Gear is more than a bigger number
Equipment can improve core stats and sometimes add combat effects. Weapons push damage, armor helps survival, and accessories can round out the weaknesses that show up during runs.
When comparing gear, ask what it changes in the next room. A higher number is useful, but a piece that supports your hero's style can be more valuable than one that only looks stronger.
Rarity and upgrades give direction
Common, UnCommon, Rare, and Epic gear give you an easy way to understand item value. Higher rarity usually means more room to grow and stronger long-term potential.
Upgrade gear you expect to keep using, especially pieces that help your current hero clear rooms more safely. Materials are part of the progression loop, so spend them where they make future attempts easier.
Dismantling keeps old drops useful
Not every item needs to be equipped. Older or weaker gear can still matter if it becomes materials for the item you actually want to improve.
Before dismantling, keep at least one useful option for each slot. Once you know a piece no longer fits your hero or route, turn it into progress instead of letting it clutter the inventory.
